Beyond the Middle Place

OK, so we read and somewhat enjoyed "The Middle Place". Many of us found we didn't have the connection with Kelly Corrigan, or a father-daughter relationship like she did, to make the book truly remarkable but as a survivor story it certainly teaches us the meaning of positive thinking and never giving up. And she does have a great website with videos of her readings and speeches.

Next will be "Out Stealing Horses" by Norwegian author Per Petterson. I haven't read a bad review yet so I've got some pretty high hopes. It won the IMPAC Dublic Literary Award which I have to admit, I don't know much about. However I was pleased to find that I also read the 2005 and 2006 winners, "The Known World" and "The Master" and loved both. So, whatever these judges are looking for - I like it too.

Happy Reading!
