The Graveyard Book

So, the meeting is just around the corner now.  Is everyone plugging away at "Pillars of the Earth" or what?  Have to admit I got slightly sidetracked.  Read "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman which was awesome.  It's a young adult title I thought I might read to my kids.  Definitely too creepy for them though.  For those of you who have slightly older kids, or perhaps just braver ones, it's a fantastic book.  I mean quality-wise as well as genre.  And if you don't believe me... it just won the Newbery Medal!
Happy reading!

I am happy to say I finished 'Pillars' and loved it!!! It was one of those books I couldn't put down (much to the chagrin of my children). Looking forward to the meeting on the 24th. Right now I'm reading 'The Geurnsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' - also very good!

Oh, Jenny. I'll be interested to hear how that book is.

I finished 'Pillars' too and enjoyed it for the 2nd time. I'm reading Amy McKinnon's 'Tethered' now and enjoying that too.

kj, I love what you've done with our blog spot. 'The Graveyard Book' sounds very interesting. How brave would your child have to be? I've got a nine-year old who loves that stuff.

Not so brave. It's just that it opens with the boy's parents being murdered (not in graphic detail or anything) and my kids, Hugh in particular, does not like that kind of stuff.
