New Selection

So here it is (finally) - summer! Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. Anyone been able to get to the beach with a good summer read yet? Well, here's your chance... our new selection is "Olive Kitteridge" by Elizabeth Strout. It's a collection of short stories that all tie together to tell the story of one woman. I heard from a friend that it is perfect for beach days and busy parents because it allows you to read in short bursts without ever loosing sight of the main story. Not to mention that it won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction 2009!

You may also note that I added a few Recommended Reads to our list. There were more mentioned at the last meeting but these were all I could remember. If anyone else has a suggestion, please feel free to add it.

Happy reading!

Olive Kittridge is great. I'm three chapters in and can't wait to read about her through her own voice! This is a very cool way to write a book. Looking forward to seeing everyone in August!
